Road Signs, Traffic Sign Boards and Highway Safety Products
Apex Engineers has supplied and installed road signs and road safety material on some of Pakistan's most important routes. Our work on the M2 Lahore to Islamabad motorway, carried out from 1996 to 1998 as a subcontractor to Daewoo, and on the Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad section as a contractor to the National Highway Authority, is still in service today.
We manufacture signs and safety products in our own manufacturing facility and install them with trained site crews, from gantry signs on motorways to guard rails on mountain roads in Gilgit Baltistan.

Anyone driving on the M2 motorway can see Apex work. The signs and safety products installed during 1996 to 1998 are still in good condition, and maintenance over the years has mostly been needed only after accidents. We believe that is the best evidence of the quality of the materials and the installation.
Similar road sign and safety projects have been carried out for the City District Government Lahore, working with sponsors, and for other highway clients across the country.

Road safety works in Gilgit Baltistan
Mountain roads bring steep drops, snow, rockfall and short working seasons. Our teams have installed guard rails, barriers and signs on roads in Gilgit Baltistan, planning logistics and installation around weather and traffic so that the road stays open while work goes on.
- Guard rails on steep sections
- Warning and chevron signs on bends
- Work planned around snow and traffic
- Materials staged for remote sites

How a project runs
Survey and schedule
We review the drawings or survey the road and prepare a sign and safety schedule.
Manufacture
Sign plates, posts, frames and safety products are fabricated, galvanised and faced in our manufacturing facility.
Traffic management
Work zones are set up with cones, signs and flagmen to protect crews and road users.
Installation and handover
Foundations, posts, signs and barriers are installed and inspected with the client.
Traffic sign boards and road signs made to Pakistani standards
Traffic signs in Pakistan follow the national manual of signs, signals and markings, which is based on the British system and uses bilingual English and Urdu text. Every sign board we make follows that manual or the drawings issued by the highway authority, so shapes, colours, letter heights and symbols are right the first time.
We produce the full family of road signs used on motorways, highways and city roads:
- Regulatory signs: speed limits, no entry, stop, give way
- Warning signs: curves, junctions, steep slopes, slippery road
- Direction and city indication sign boards
- Overhead gantry and cantilever signs
- Construction zone and temporary signs
- Custom sign boards for industrial sites and campuses
Sign faces use retro reflective sheeting so that they stay visible in headlights at night. Plates, posts and frames are galvanised steel, and every sign is installed on a foundation designed for its size and wind load.

How to specify road signs for a project
When you request a quotation for traffic signs, the most useful information is a sign schedule: the type, size and message of each sign, the post or gantry arrangement and the location. If you only have road drawings, our team can prepare the schedule for you.
For private roads, housing schemes and industrial estates we also advise on sign placement, so that drivers get warnings early enough and directions are clear without clutter.

Frequently asked questions
What types of road signs do you make?
We make regulatory, warning, direction and information signs, gantry and cantilever signs, city indication signs and custom sign boards, in sizes and colours set by the Pakistan road sign manual or the client's drawings.
Which materials are used for road sign boards?
Sign plates are usually aluminium or galvanised steel with retro reflective sheeting. Posts and frames are galvanised steel. The exact materials follow the project specification.
Do you install as well as supply?
Yes. We supply and install signs, guard rails, fencing, road studs and other safety products, including the foundations for sign posts and gantries.
Have you worked with the National Highway Authority?
Yes. We have worked on motorway road sign and safety projects both as a contractor to the NHA and as a subcontractor to Daewoo Pakistan on the M2 motorway.
